Purpose
To light a fresh candle any place we find darkness. To give evidence to the generations coming behind us that God is faithful, in control, and will keep His promises.
To encourage senior adults to keep focused on our Jehovah-Jireh (our Provider) for the remainder of our journey.
To exercise our laugh muscles on a consistent basis since scripture reminds us that a merry heart does good like medicine.
Events
Monthly events are scheduled on each 3rd Thursday. We plan times of fellowship with a meal, Guest Speaker, and/or special music. In the fall we plan a day to travel to the North Georgia Mountains for apples. In December we make it a priority to take in the beauty of Christmas lights.
The duties of our Minister of Pastoral Care keeps Dr. John Allen quite busy. To ensure those of our church family who are no longer able to attend services stay connected, he makes regular visits to their homes and/or the Nursing Home.
The Minister of Pastoral Care also works alongside the pastor by ministering to members who are hospitalized for minor illness or surgery.
He also serves as back-up in the Pastor's absence should circumstances arise requiring prompt attention.
